The effect of double-row wing bag sand barrier on wind prevention and sand fixation: wind tunnel simulation and field verification

چکیده

Introduction: Most of the sand fixation technologies utilized locally and internationally are static or dynamic, making it challenging for a single mode to function in harsh environment. Therefore, development that combines resistance consolidation has emerged as trending topic control research. Our team developed wing bag barrier, which is dynamic combination mode. Methods: In this study, we examined characteristics airflow velocity field near double-row barrier under different wind conditions screen out optimal barrier. The analyses were conducted nine configuration modes through tunnel simulation experiment experiment. Results: inflection point was always 5H on windward side regardless speed. protection range with same specifications gradually weakened increase However, there an upward trend both total accumulation each height layer. When speed slower than 8 m/s, behind mainly concentrated 0–10 cm layer, when 12 30–60 At leeward particles rejected 0–30 cm; however, they cm. protective effect simulated consistent Discussion: For 6 recommended specification field-installed 25 × 20 30 at inlet m/s. greater cm,

Threshold Windspeeds for Sand on Mars Wind Tunnel Simulations

Wind friction threshold speeds (u,t) for particle movement (saltation) were determined in a wind tunnel operating at martian surface pressure with a 95 percent CO 2 and 5 percent air atmosphere. The relationship between friction speed (u,) and free-stream velocity (%0) is extended to the critical case for Mars of momentum thickness Reynolds numbers (Re0) between 425 and 2000. It is determined t...

Electrostatics in wind-blown sand.

Wind-blown sand, or "saltation," is an important geological process, and the primary source of atmospheric mineral dust aerosols. Significant discrepancies exist between classical saltation theory and measurements. We show here that these discrepancies can be resolved by the inclusion of sand electrification in a physically based saltation model. Indeed, we find that electric forces enhance the...

Numerical simulation of wind sand movement in straw checkerboard barriers.

Straw checkerboard barrier (SCB) is the most representative antidesertification measure and plays a significant role in antidesertification projects. Large-eddy simulation and discrete-particle tracing were used to numerically simulate the wind sand movement inside the straw checkerboard barrier (SCB), study the movement characteristics of sand particles, find the transverse velocities of sand ...

Analysis of sand dunes to determine wind direction and detect sand source sites (case study: Khartooran Erg, Iran)

Wind regime and sand grain size are two of the factors that determine the morphology and dynamics of sand dunes in desert areas. Regarding the importance of wind effects on sand dunes especially in Iran, in this study, Khartooran Erg was analyzed to determine wind direction and to detect sand source sites. Khartooran Erg is located on eastern north of Iran and lies in Khorasan Razavi and Semnan...
